Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read IND. This page explains how the site works today and how to tell us when something gets in the way.

Reading and navigation

Stories are published as text, with headings, links and image descriptions where we have them. You can move through the menu and story links with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link appears when it receives keyboard focus, and the Menu closes with Escape.

What we're still working on

We plan to review image descriptions, keyboard journeys and colour contrast across the site. Some archived stories may need fuller image descriptions or context, and we'll add them as we restore that work.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on IND is hard to read, hear or use, email [email protected]. Tell us which page and what got in the way. We reply to everyone within 48 hours. You don't need to share any health information; describing the barrier is enough. If you'd like a story in another format, ask and we'll do what we can.
