Inuit-led comedy North of North returns for second season
Anna Lambe is back as Siaja in the APTN, CBC and Netflix series, streaming in Canada on CBC Gem and APTN+ ahead of its global Netflix launch on November 5.

Anna Lambe returns as Siaja in the second season of North of North, the comedy from APTN, CBC and Netflix.
Siaja is a young Inuk mother rebuilding her life after leaving her marriage in Ice Cove, a fictional Arctic community where everybody knows your business. As winter settles in, she pushes for more responsibility at the community centre, tries to learn about a half-sister she never knew existed and considers a return to dating, all while raising her daughter, Bun. Guiding her this season is Pilimmaksarniq, the Inuktitut concept of mastering skills through observation, practice and effort.
The series is created, executive produced and written by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, Inuk filmmakers from Kugluktuk and Iqaluit, Nunavut, who drew on their own experiences as Inuit women. Their Iqaluit-based company, Red Marrow Media, produces the series with Northwood Entertainment, whose Miranda de Pencier is an executive producer.
The returning cast includes Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Doreen Simmonds and Keira Belle Cooper.
Season 2 was filmed in Toronto and on location in Iqaluit, where community members appear as background actors. Its eight episodes premiered in Canada on September 8.
Stream North of North, Seasons 1 and 2, now in Canada on CBC Gem and APTN+. Season 2 launches globally on Netflix on November 5, Netflix announced.
