Jeremy Dutcher released Jeremy Dutcher Trio Live in Japan on October 16, according to his publicist, Killbeat Music. The six-track EP was recorded live during his August 2025 tour of Japan with longtime collaborators Thom Gill and Stef Schneider.

The EP revisits songs from Dutcher's catalogue in a trio setting. His publicist's announcement also links a live video for “The Land That Held Them.” The recordings follow Kyoto Sessions, a filmed performance series issued in September, but the two projects are distinct releases.

Dutcher, a Wolastoqiyik musician from Tobique First Nation, thanked the musicians, local teams and audiences who welcomed the trio in Japan. In the announcement, he singled out the Ainu Nation for its hospitality. The EP arrives as he performs in Taiwan and Japan with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, with a separate headline tour in France planned for November.

The release notice also says Dutcher and Basia Bulat's song “Ribbons,” recorded in English and Wolastoqey, appears in Episode 207 of North of North. That collaboration is separate from the six-track live EP.
