imagineNATIVE Opens 2027 Festival Submissions; Regular Deadline January 3
The regular submission window for the June 2027 festival in Toronto runs through January 3, with a C$5 fee.

Submissions are open for the 2027 imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, with the regular window running through January 3, 2027. The festival lists a C$5 fee for this period. Its free early-bird period has ended.
imagineNATIVE accepts film and video, digital and interactive, and audio works. Its examples include features and shorts, episodic series, music videos, extended reality, video games, sound art and podcasts. The festival says works need not centre overt Indigenous themes. Its submission page requires an Indigenous director and an Indigenous writer and/or producer, with details for joint roles in its artistic policy.
The festival says it generally accepts works created in 2025, 2026 or 2027 for this edition and permits rough cuts if the expected completion date is specified. It accepts work in any language, with English subtitles or captions required if a project is selected. The festival accepts works with any premiere status.
The in-person festival is scheduled for June 1–6, 2027, at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, with online programming June 7–13, according to imagineNATIVE. Submissions go through FilmFreeway via its official page.
